YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A PEST PREVENTION CUSTOMER OF OURS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR CUSTOMIZED TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES.
The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) bench-marked standards require your employees to be trained to ensure your products are safe for the public. Food, Drug & The Bug Northeast offers dozens of on-site training courses. These are both meeting/classroom and out-on-the-floor varieties.
Please scroll below for a few samples of the many training programs that we would be happy to assist you with.

RECEIVING PRACTICES TRAINING
- Ever wonder what else could be delivered to your facility other than what you’ve ordered? Of course you have!
- Rushing to receive your orders can be costly when it comes to delivering rodents, cockroaches, or other economic pests.
- Receiving practices training is just one of many customized training programs that we offer to narrow your operational gaps that are pest conducive.
GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES TRAINING
Having an outside expert providing training, especially with cGMPs, may help you keep your products and brand safer than in-house training. It’s analogous to having an aunt or uncle having success with teaching your children after multiple efforts of your parental guidance not sinking in. Let us train your employees across the many areas of current Good Manufacturing Practices that they must make a habit of and implement in their day-to-day operations to keep your products, facility and brand safe.

BUILDING A NEW FACILITY OR ADDING MORE SPACE?
So many factors can and should be considered when building a new facility or adding to your existing facility. Lighting, landscaping, storage racking, floors / walls / ceiling surfaces are just a few things to consider. When you are in the planning stages it is the very best time to invite us to work with your architects, landscapers and building contractors to help prevent pests in every way possible.
PEST EXCLUSION TRAINING
HOW DO YOU KEEP PESTS OUT?
Pest Exclusion Training has been invaluable to many of our customers in protecting their products and brand from harmful pests. In addition, proper exclusion is mandated by FSMA under CFR 117.35 (section C). Hugo Hartnack, in his book, “202 Household Pests” published in 1939, wrote about the importance of keeping pests out. Let’s all make pest exclusion a top priority in the food and medicine manufacturing industries.

CLOSE THE GAPS™ TRAINING
Sometimes an outside expert is needed to help improve your facility’s culture. Poor employee behaviors are one of the leading causes of pest infiltration.
The topics in our Close the Gaps™ Training Programs are designed to narrow the operational gaps that exist at the facility that are pest conducive. The topics will be chosen collectively by the Customer and FDBNE. This is generally implemented with your supervisors. These exercises will be “hands on” out-on-the-floor of the facility and will focus on a single topic to maximize comprehension. A verbal quiz will follow for all attendees to demonstrate their knowledge. Certificates will be awarded to all attendees that pass the quiz.
STORAGE / WAREHOUSE PRACTICES TRAINING
Both raw and finished goods storage offer shadows, food, and harborage for pests. A house mouse can live its whole life along with future generations in a bag of ingredients without needing to go anywhere for survival.
Other insect pests such as stored product beetles and moths can destroy your valuable ingredients and finished goods. Let us train your warehouse staff to better protect your products and brand.
